Burmese activists in New Delhi hark back on memories of the historic and bloody uprising in 1988. Thousands of peaceful protesters were gunned down brutally by the military junta to cling to power. From the bloody crackdown, a pertinent movement was born that would later be known as the “8.8.88 movement for democracy”.
